Northpine Waipu defeated Mid Northern 18-15 to retain its Northland Club Rugby Premiership title in a thrilling match at Semenoff Stadium (22 August).

Ben Macken slotted the decisive 45m penalty in extra time after the title contenders had been locked up 15-15 at the end of 80 minutes.
